In Review: Dana Williams At Schubas Tavern

Whether you’re feeling love-struck, heartbroken or anything in between, Dana Williams likely has a song to get you through it.

Although Dana’s top songs on Spotify right now are collaborations with other artists, I think her best work is in her solo music. What I love most about Dana’s music is that it is really upfront and comforting to listen to because of the honesty in her lyricism. My favorite song of hers is called “No Pressure,” which includes some of my favorite lyrics: “no pressure, no pressure but we're falling apart. No pressure, no pressure, but you're breaking my heart.”

Dana’s show at Schubas was just her performing alone with a guitar. I really admire this because I imagine it must be hard to go on stage and put on a full performance all by yourself. Between songs Dana would talk a lot with the audience, telling stories about her life and influences behind her songs. One of my favorite song introductions that she gave was for her song “There You Go.” She described the song as being about the times that her ex boyfriends have tried to get back in contact with her in strange ways. She said that once instead of getting a call or text, she received a happy women's month email from an ex.

If you want to keep up with Dana’s next releases, go follow her on Instagram. In our interview with her, she said she plans to continue releasing a new single every month. “Easy,” one of her newest singles, has already become one of my favorites (you can listen to this song and more on our Tour Features playlist).

So in the words of Dana Williams you should listen to her music because: “If you are going through anything that you are struggling to get through, my music might keep you company.”
